Proboat Miss Geico 36 Battery Bracing
thingiverse
This battery support is for the Proboat Miss Geico 36. I modeled this off my hull so I have no idea if each boat is built exactly the same from the factory. My center tray was shifted slightly off to one side so you will see the mount I made is not totally symmetrical. This mount allows you to mount your 6s Lipo's down in the sponsons for better CG and weight management. This hull tends to run a bit too loose for my taste with the large lipo's mounted in the stock location. I have put some strong Velco down in the sponsons and decided to print this battery brace just for some extra support in case the boat blows over. I designed these braces around the 6s Lipo's I am using but left plenty of room inside the braces for different size 6s packs. If the braces are a little on the loose side you can add some stick on foam on the inside of the braces. Depending on your printer and resolution you may need to use a 5/32" drill bit to open the holes for the mounting pins. One fast pass through the holes is enough, if you over drill them then the pins will be too loose. If that happens you can always re-print the pins at 101% so they are slightly oversized and lightly sand them until they are a nice snug fit. You will also need longer mounting bolts, the factory bolts will be too short. Don't go too long or you will hit the bottom of the hull. I printed these using PETG with extra walls or Perimeters if you are using Prusa slicer with 20% Gyroid infill as this seems to be pretty strong. If I had carbon I would print that instead for the extra strength. I didn't print these as the main battery hold down, these are just extra insurance in case the hull blows over hard enough to dislodge the lipo's from the velcro. **Edit** I noticed a couple guys posting pics that the center tray was not lining up correctly so I added a logo on the front to make sure they are being mounted in the right direction.
