Probe mount for E3D dual extruder
thingiverse
This is Probe mount for "Prusa i3 Adjustable E3D J-Head Dual Extruder" from this link: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:694135. It screws directly into the Extruder and replicates the mounts for the fan mount. I created it for personal use, then decided to share it. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: HIC Prusa i3 200270170 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Notes: Use ABS because it will sit near the extruder head and hot bed. Post-Printing Optional: Smooth out with acetone. If the probe hall is too small, use a drill to enlarge it. My printer was too tight initially, so I increased the hall size by hand. To avoid this problem altogether, you can directly thread plastic and skip nuts, but using nuts ensures security and reliability. Probe Mount Installation Place the probe in position then attach it to the extruder with 2 M3 screws and nuts. Optional: Attach the fan mount to the probe mount for extra functionality. How I Designed This Project I used Sketchup and imported an STL file from the design. Then, I created my custom model around it, allowing anyone who already has printed the extruder to simply skip printing it again without any need to duplicate effort or resources.
