The Angel is located south of Banco Chinchorro, submerged at depths ranging from 10 to 12 meters.\nSome of its remains like hardware and chains indicate that the vessel's propulsion system was sail-powered; added to the fact that no evidence was found suggesting it was a steamboat or powered by an engine; besides, the presence of iron reinforcements towards stern, bow, and on the inner hull indicates, along with the planks found in the bow section and towards stern, that it was a ship built mainly of wood with structural components made of iron such as reinforcement of the structure.\nThe study of the metallic coating of the hull, manufactured in Muntz, as well as naval and commercial history for that time and region, points to the possibility that it is an English sailing vessel transporting a cargo of dye tree.
