Printtboard USB Support Bracket

Printtboard USB Support Bracket

I own a PrintrBot Play that I got early in the year, and I truly adore it! However, just a few weeks into owning it, the USB port on the Printrboard Rev F2 (main control board) seemed to give in to gravity's pull and... fell off. I had been really careful with it, remembering reading about problems with that port for some people. Now I appreciate the PrintrBoard and the Printrbot team (who quickly sent me a new one under warranty), and I use a Rev D in my RepRap Air. I decided I could probably help solve this issue by downloading the CAD drawings of the board, so I designed a little support bracket, which has worked for over a month with no issues! It even feels more stable. Printing it takes no time and very little PLA is needed, even with solid infill. You'll need a slightly longer M4 mounting screw (I found an M4x12 at my local ACE hardware that fit perfectly) to accommodate the bracket. I did the design in Fusion 360. Please download, use, modify, improve, and remix it! The 3D printing community is great, with both users and manufacturers participating, and I'm glad to be a part of it!
