PrintrShock 2 universal

So I did a completely new version of PrintrShock! After a lot of testing and prototyping, I finally have a design that is really good! What is PrintrShock? It's simply feet for your printer with springs to absorb the vibrations from fast moves and sudden turns from the printer. It's not made to make your printer stand still; it's made to make your printer move! And why is that you ask? Noise reduction, of course! I could hear my printer through walls before, but only the soft thumping from when it changed directions. That noise is completely gone now! All I can hear is the stepper motor song! Oh, and my Power supply fan... PrintShock can't delete the fan noise! What printer do they fit? Any printer! It's very easy on my Printrbot because of the complete body. But if you have a Prusa or something that isn't really happy with moving around, just place it on a thin plate and add PrintrShock 2 universal under the plate! How do I place them? First, there are two files. One file has a round base and the other doesn't... that's the only difference! Each foot needs two pieces. I used one with the round base underneath and the smaller one on top, but it's up to each and everyone to decide how they want! A PrintrShock needs four springs: one heavy in the middle that holds the weight and three small ones to stabilize the foot itself. More info on this below! If you look at the shape, there are three arms. Two of the arms are at an angle of 90 degrees, and the third is 135 degrees from the other two. That single arm goes under the printer; that's the direction you should use for the feet. The heavy spring is to be placed directly under the outer corners. UPDATE! .STEP files on springs that fit have been uploaded for easy measuring when shopping for springs... or maybe print the springs themselves! Demonstration video down below (speaking Swedish, but mute and watch)! The original Printrshock can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1378769 UPDATE! .STEP files have been uploaded so you all can more easily edit the holes where the springs go after what springs you like! Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20 Notes: Really easy to print... About the springs!! I added .step files for springs that fit, so use them to look for the right ones to buy... or print them out! I haven't tried printing them yet; if you do before me, please share! The heavy-duty spring is 25mmx9mm and inside 5mm (25mm x 10mm could be when you buy it), and the smaller spring is 14mmx7mm with an inside of 5mm. Give or take a little is okay; there are some tolerance... One important rule on height: The small springs need to be 12mm shorter than the big spring, with that in mind, you can get shorter or taller springs as long as you follow that rule! Examples of springs can be found here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/8mmx25mm-Chromium-Alloy-Steel-Heavy-Load-Die-Spring-Green-/291630095240?hash=item43e6821b88%3Ag%3A~pIAAOSwfZ1WXzoI http://www.solidcomponents.com/company/?SCCC=SCCOU47UN&Lang=46 The second link is longer springs that you can choose the desired dimension, and then cut to the correct length when you get them! These are just examples!! Post-Printing .STEP files for the spring have been uploaded This is the evolution of PrintrShock - the two halves are great, and the masterpiece!
