printrite bowden feeder

Design is for use with my printrite J-head adaption design. Both versions of the design shown have a filament exit hole suitable for a screw-in 6mm push-fit connector for either 6mm OD PTFE tube (3mm filament) or 4mm OD PTFE tube (for 1.75mm filament). V.1 is designed for use with a MK7/8 extruder feeder (alternatively, you can use 1sPiRe's own design - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1548736). V.2 is designed for use with the original Printrite feeder, which saves additional purchase/printing of feeder setup but is less reliable as the MK7-8/1sPiRe type feeder. Both designs have 2mm bolt holes for mounting to wherever you wish on your printer's frame (or even away from the frame if you so wish), but the closer to the extruder, the better, as this will minimize flex in the PTFE feed tube running from bowden to extruder (which can affect retraction and cause a small degree of oozing if not addressed). Warning: use the correct tensioning arm on the design specified above, though both designs seem very similar, there are vital differences in hole location that make the correct arm necessary for smooth operation. As can be seen in the above picture, I've used the original bolts to mount the design to the extruder motor, which works perfectly well and is very secure; however, if you wish to, you may use M3x15mm bolts instead. Additional Instruction: When screwing in the PTFE tube connector, use a generous blob of thread locker; it'll give the connector thread better grip on the ABS (at a push, a blob of superglue will do, but don't go nuts), and reduce the chances of it being forced out during operation.
