Printrbot Z Drive Clamp
thingiverse
I accidentally tightened the Z-drive clamps too much on my Printrbot build, resulting in a cracked birch plywood. Unable to find appropriate replacements, I decided to print new clamps while typing this. They're printed without support and should work well for any Printrbot models. The 8mm diam groove in the middle sandwiches the Z drive screw and shimmed motor shaft; adjust as needed for different printers or applications. My printed clamps have been flawless, even under over-torquing strain, but make sure fasteners clear the plywood to avoid interference with carriage rotation. I've now created a thinner V2 version with nut captives, reducing size without compromising strength and ensuring clearance for the 3D printer's carriage.
