Printrbot + (Wooden) Fan Bracket

Printrbot + (Wooden) Fan Bracket

thingiverse

Old, reliable, and churning along, my trusty Printrbot Plus remains my go-to printer despite being outdated. As newer machines get upgraded, the old PB keeps on working while others are getting replaced. Why not keep it? Because it's dependable, uses 3mm filament, and just keeps printing. My ancient Printrbot never had a cooling fan for the extruder, but I'd often aim a desk fan at it when it wasn't too much trouble. Lately, however, I've been experimenting with firmware, and thought adding a fan would be worth considering. This is a basic fan in two iterations, one with the mount on the side and one with the mount centered. It requires a standard 40mm fan, (3) M3 nuts, (3) M3 screws, and a mounting hole drilled in the wood of the extruder. It's not much, but it may be useful to someone.
