Printrbot Spring Loaded Bed Leveling System
thingiverse
This mod enhances Y Bar Ends on the Printrbot, enabling adjustment of each heated bed's corner using only 4 screws. It allows accurate height adjustments within thousandths of an inch at all four corners, without printing, as it utilizes existing print bed mounts. The modification uses additional Printrbot hardware and just two small springs. No extra parts are needed. The mod requires the following hardware: 4 Y Bar Ends, 12 #6 washers, 4 #6-32 square nuts, 2 springs (7.14 x 23.83 x .071 mm), and 4 each of #6-32 hex nuts, 2" bolts, and 1/2" standoffs. The procedure involves removing existing Y-Bar Ends, gluing square nuts to the new ends, assembling hardware in a specific sequence, and adding length to Y-Axis COG belt tensioner mounts with standoffs to avoid collision. The result is improved bed accuracy without using washers or shims for height adjustments. A file for printing new Y Bar Ends is also included.
