To enable my Printrbot's spool to rotate freely, I designed a Sketchup model with an 8mm dowel rod for the center hole. For proper fitment, you may need slightly longer screws than the ones on the original spool. The dowel might require light sanding to improve spin-action. As for printing settings, I used 40% infill and 2 perimeters.
