Printrbot Simple Roller
thingiverse
I have just completed constructing a Printrbot Small Tower. The Toy Builder spool was slightly too narrow for fitting on the skate rollers. Therefore, I replaced the bearings with another roller which made it incredibly smooth, so smooth that it doesn't even need to roll! Instead, the spool easily slides over the rollers. A big thanks to Padawn for sharing their idea and providing OpenScad source. You can also check out a video about this at https://vimeo.com/90834612. Moreover, MrChristo suggested an additional idea of feeding the floss from the bottom, under the front roller, which seems to cause less stress. To complete the set, print the Roller Extenders available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:302483. These extenders accommodate wider rolls! For installation, print two rollers and follow these steps - remove skate bearings, washers, bolts, and nut; feed the bolt from outside to inside, add one washer, and then screw into the roller.
