Printrbot Simple Pro Shroud for 40mm Fan
thingiverse
I grew tired of listening to the loud 30mm hotend fan noise, so I designed this simple shroud that lets you mount a quieter 40mm fan instead. You can install the fan directly without the cover, but it adds a touch of elegance and keeps fingers out. This modification sticks out a bit further than the original shroud, yet there is still ample space for tweezers to access the area and it doesn't protrude beyond the base, so it shouldn't interfere with any type of enclosure. M3 screws are intended to be screwed in from the inside, and you should have some extra length for the screws since they don't need to screw all the way into the cover. Mine were 20mm long (thread length), but I think you can get away with about 16mm.
