The spool holder for the Printrbot Simple Metal rests securely on the Z-axis assembly, ensuring it remains conveniently located for effortless dispensing. Held firmly in place by gravity and friction alone, its sturdy design relies on a 1/4" rod, approximately six inches long, which serves as the spool shaft. The robust Z-axis of the Simple Metal is expected to withstand any additional stress without issues, although slight wear may develop on the screw thread over time. Optional reinforcement can be added by driving a screw into the pre-drilled hole located at the base, where it securely attaches to hold everything in place.
