I modified "Cable Chain" by ModelStation to make it easier to work with cables headed to my extruder stepper and hot end without detaching any wires. The original design had a problem where the set of wires would droop into the build plate on my Printrbot Simple, but this modification solved the issue. I also added a chain end and a stepper motor mount to give it more functionality. To assemble it, you'll need some 35mm M3 screws that are a bit longer than the stock stepper screws to account for the space taken up by the mount. I found similar screws at my local hardware store, which were flathead M3x35mm. The wires in the sleeving that comes with the PB Simple were left intact but trimmed down on either end, and then secured to the vertical pillars on every other chain link using small zip ties. This keeps the build plate clear and gives it a sleek look.
