I rummaged through my toolbox and found some steel balls, which I promptly utilized to craft a low-friction spool holder. This ingenious device attaches itself securely on top of the Z-axis rods, providing a sturdy base for the spindle. The spindle itself snaps neatly onto its designated slot at the base, while the nut takes care of locking everything into place. The M4 clamping screws, although still functional, have proven to be somewhat redundant in most modern applications.
