PrintrBot Simple Metal Power Switch Panel
thingiverse
I despise disconnecting my power lead from my power adapter just to shut off the printer, so I crafted this custom design using 123D Design to include an emergency stop switch on the front of the machine. The panel is tailored to blend in seamlessly with Printrbot aesthetics, and the switch cut-out is precisely designed to accommodate a standard illuminated rocker switch (I'm currently utilizing a Maplin part number N84JZ available at http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/rectangular-12v-rocker-switch-illuminated-red-n84jz). As soon as I post a blog entry detailing the wiring process, feel free to check it out by visiting http://www.soldersuckerblog.com/home/random-ramblings. Once I publish the blog entry, I'll directly link to that post from here. The small slot on top of the design is intentionally included to house the Delrin spacer provided with Printrbot kits – I utilize this spacer to smooth down tape on my build platform and was perpetually misplacing it! This design marks my debut submission to Thingiverse; having downloaded an abundance of remarkable models, I wished to repay by offering something useful to fellow makers.
