Expand the 2nd photo to see the annotations in Photo! For owners of Printrbot Simple Metal, have you noticed that grasping extruder head and trying to roll it could get nozzle to roll about 1mm or more? This would cause some variability in X direction when printing either due to vibration or drag. This clamp fills gap between servo motor and constrains servo motor to Y plate at the same time. Roll variability is significantly reduced. IF YOU DO MAKE AND INSTALL THIS, PLEASE READ POST-PRINTING SECTION! Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 10% Notes: No critical issues at all, so basic and low res settings should suffice. Post-Printing Installation You may want to unscrew screws that this clamp will go over and install them after the clamp is in place. Z-height Calibration As this clamp would most likely change your Extruder head calibration, you must recalibrate your Z offset. E.g. for my setup, my Z offset was originally Z-0.70, and after installing, I had to use Z-0.30. G-Code steps are: M501 - to see your current settings e.g. M212 X0.00 Y0.00 Z-0.70 M212 Z{offset} - to change your Z offset. e.g. M212 Z-0.30 M500 - to store the new setting. M501 - to check that the settings are correctly stored. e.g. M212 X0.00 Y0.00 Z-0.30
