I had to design my own Filament Holder since none were to my liking: - It keeps your workspace organized as it attaches right on top of the Printrbot. - Handles spools ranging from 55mm-90mm wide (or even wider with a longer bolt). - With skateboard bearings and bottom-fed filament, unwinding is smooth and you can leave prints running without worrying about falling or jamming. I designed this using Autocad and it took some time to perfect; I hope you'll enjoy using it! Instructions In addition to printing the STL file, you'll need: - 4 skateboard bearings ($6 on Amazon). - 2 bolts measuring 5/16 inches in length (allowing for a spool up to about 90mm in diameter). - 6 nylon lock nuts sized 5/16 inches. - Optional: 4 washers, 5/16 inches in size - you may not need these if your spools are straight but if yours are bent like the one shown here, consider adding washers for extra security. To mount on a Printrbot: The holes I designed were a bit larger than needed to accommodate different printers. You might want to apply some tape around the rods at the top of the Printrbot to keep the holder in place. Mounting your filament spool requires one important detail: make sure it emerges from the bottom so as not to jam. You'll also need a hex wrench to tighten those bolts - or rather, you wouldn't need a wrench at all if I hadn't had trouble getting mine out while staying at a hotel.
