I adored Spiernik's original design so much because it skillfully highlights the motion from the extruder stepper motor, prompting me to remix and embellish it. I amplified its presence and altered the spoke design to a more elaborate and less natural appearance. Ultimately, I extended the length of the shaft to provide more room for the locking extruder handle I use, which can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:651391. I also included the .blend file for anyone interested in remixing this.
