PrintrBot Simple Metal Chassis 60mm Fan Mount

Here is a set of simple mounts designed to fit underneath my PrintrBot Simple Metal printer. They allow fans to be mounted to cool the Z/X motors and stepper drivers on the main-board. UPDATE 09/01/2015: I discovered that the friction fit was too ambitious, causing the mounts to pop out during printing. Version 1.1 (60mm PBSM Fan Holder 1.1-vented-dualhole.stl) corrects this by removing 2mm from the mount body, making it a perfect fit for the PBSM. However, a drop of hot glue is required to keep it in place. Instructions: This set of mounts are designed to sit the fans within the chassis at an 8mm depth - I did this to give more space between the motors and the fan to maximize airflow, and also to allow as much clearance as possible for the wiring loom. I have some low profile fans on order, and they will sit more or less flush with the bottom of the printer once fitted. The standard 60mm fans used in the pictures have an overall depth of 19.5mm, so protrude under the chassis. If you don't want to find low profile fans, please ensure that you have printed feet for your Simple and installed prior to installing these fan mounts. The ones in the pictures are plain, and contain two mounting points for 60mm fans (central, and towards one end). The second design is identical except it contains vents, which reduces the amount of plastic required, and may give better airflow depending on your fan's design. As mentioned above, the mounts are designed to friction fit within the chassis once the fan has been mounted. A dab of hot glue may be required at each end if you get any material retraction. Print off two mounts for each fan to be installed, and ensure that you print them on their sides to avoid any support material requirements.
