Printrbot Simple Metal BMG Mount with Cable Chain
youmagine
I got myself a BMG clone and needed a way to install it. This design was inspired by Printrbot Simple Metal Cable Chain E3dD Titan Mount from pewp and Printrbot Bowden Setup from JonnayLin. To mount the BMG, you'll need a shorter motor, or you'll sacrifice some axis range. Remove the screw holding the belt; you can use a flat-head screw or substitute it with a longer one on the other side. The mount attaches to three screws and a cable tie - note that I haven't used this design in a while. For added stability, increase the thickness of the mounting points for the screws or swap out the cable tie for screws, but this will require metal work on the printer's frame. This BMG adapter is designed for an E3D V6. The hotend isn't clamped by the design itself; use ClassicGOD's adapter plate to secure it. To assemble: Check that the PTFE tube of your hotend matches the end of the adapter and is in direct contact with the extruder. Install the BMG on the mount, secure the cable tie to the mount and printer frame, screw the adapter plate (with the hotend) onto the mount, and make sure your Z-probe still works!
