Designers crafted a spool holder specifically for the new Printrbot Simple Maker's Edition, addressing one of its notable limitations. First, replace the existing M3 15mm screws securing the spool to the PB's side with longer M3 20mm screws, which have a thickness of 5mm due to their thicker profile. Note that the original design was tested on a Printrbot Simple Metal and may not accommodate standard Printrbot Simple Maker models, leading to the discovery of the requirement for a top bar adjustment. An additional design has been developed specifically for Printrbot Simple Makers Edition, eliminating this need altogether. Add 3/16 or 8mm length rods or, alternatively, utilize threaded rods accompanied by lock nuts. Despite its potential limitations when pulling the spool due to spinning forces applied, it proves sufficient to handle 1kg-sized rolls securely.
