Printrbot Simple Handle Alu Spool Holder
thingiverse
This spool holder clips onto the Printrbot Simple Handle Alu seamlessly without requiring any additional hardware. It easily hooks onto the Z rods and wraps snugly around the handle for maximum support. A crucial 30mm stopper is incorporated, allowing for unobstructed movement of the Y arm along the full length of the Z axis without running into the spool - just be aware that certain spools may feature an inner recessed circle, similar to larger Makerbot spools. At the opposite end of the holder is a 5mm stopper that securely keeps the spool in place from falling off. The spool itself measures 70mm and should fit most standard sizes comfortably. I created this because spools kept falling off my rollers if even a slight tangle occurred in the filament. Furthermore, issues arose with my E3D V6 jamming, particularly regarding the roller's feed to the extruder, possibly contributing to the jams. Although I can't conclusively attribute the solution entirely to this holder, the problem hasn't recurred since its implementation. I'm thrilled to share this and look forward to your comments as always. A huge thank you goes to SpannerHands for "Printrbot Simple Metal Handle", whose precise outline allowed me to create an accurate replica. I invite you all - think it. print it. post it. on http://www.printrbotforum.com/ Instructions My model was printed at 0.1mm resolution and 60mm/s speed, but 0.2 or even 0.3 might also produce excellent results. Due to the snug fit on the alu handle, rather than reprinting at higher precision, I opted for maximum fineness. This print requires no supports.
