Introducing a compact 40mm fan mount designed specifically for Printrbot Simple 2014's aluminum extruder. The mount directs airflow towards the direct drive gear, ensuring efficient cooling. It attaches easily to the Y-carriage via two existing M3x20 bolts. An integrated filament guide is also included, though sanding may be necessary for a perfect fit. Additional M3x20 screws and nuts from assembly are used to secure the fan. The fan receives power from the heat bed's 12V (unused) and the 5V E-stop ground connection, as demonstrated in photos. Cooling efficiency is notable with the extruder remaining cool to touch during printing.
