Printrbot Simple Extensible X-Axis

This reworked text adds a metal rod extension to your Printrbot Simple, allowing for increased X-axis length. Home Depot sells a 3-foot 5/16" metal rod for $5, while Amazon offers an 8mm alternative. With a hacksaw, you can cut the rod in two, and custom-printed parts will enable attachment to your printer. Note that the setup consumes desk space. Due to software limitations, the full range of the extended axis hasn't been tested yet; however, a firmware update is available to potentially address this issue. As for the print bed, cardboard was found insufficiently sturdy, while wood may be too heavy due to rod vibrations. The text provides links to two sets of files for Simple Beta and V2 models, detailing print instructions. You might need to ream out holes to fit rods and adjust infill settings when printing. Removing the old build plate is simple and requires only two zip ties for a new one. Balancing force on brackets is optional but may help.
