A reduced moving mass can benefit the Simple design. For this, consider purchasing Metric Extreme-Temperature Tubing (part 52335K32) made of PTFE with a 2mm ID, 4mm OD, and 1mm wall in semi-clear white at $2.45 per foot, with an order of at least two feet. Additionally, you'll need Metric Black Acetal Push-to-Connection Tube Fitting, Adapter (part 5449K171) for a 4mm tube OD and 1/8" BSPT male pipe at $2.21 each, with two required. Utilize a 5/8 end-mill or drill to clean the 16mm hole created by the hot-end. Also, use a 6-32 tap for screw holes. To tap the plastic for 1/8 inch pipe threads, either use a tap or metal fitting, and you might need an "R" size drill bit before tapping. For optimal performance, experiment with chamfering the inside edges of the tubing using a small drill (about 2.5mm) or reaming the ends to reduce resistance; ordering at least four feet allows for this experimentation. When installing the cold-end plate, pay attention to its orientation since it lacks filament path centralization. Be cautious not to overtighten your hobbed-filament drive as it can flatten the filament, causing smoothness issues through the tubing.
