Printrbot 1405 Y-Axis Belt Tightener Check out the updated design here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:455019 The original Y-Axis Tensioner on my Printrbot Simple 1405 failed, prompting me to create a replacement part. I manufactured this piece and successfully destroyed it after only two prints; it's possible that my belt was over-tightened, but I'm working on an alternate tensioning system design. Designers should monitor their progress and stay tuned for upcoming innovations. Instructions: To manufacture this item on a Printrbot Simple Metal, use a Wood (1405) configuration, replacing the damaged wooden component on your Printrbot 1405 (Wood). This component works fine when paired with the 1405, making it worthwhile to create a spare copy, especially if you have limited access to a single printer. Using a layer height of approximately 0.2mm, allow 10-20 minutes for completion; automatically set your infill settings for optimal results. Due to its small size, my slicer infills the entire component without explicit instruction. This redesigned part nearly duplicates the original except for improved belt fitment and precise screw hole alignment that demands sufficient pressure during installation.
