Printrbot simple 1405 GT2 belt bearing support
thingiverse
I designed this accessory to support GT2 belt bearings by mounting directly onto the bearings through the NEMA17 holes and fitting snugly around the screw heads holding them in place. This provides end-to-end support for the screws, ensuring a secure hold. After experiencing my X-axis bearings collapse under excessive tension from the GT2 belt, causing it to slip off, I created this solution. It was inspired by the Y carriage design and Y ends found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:372467/#files Whether you need this upgrade depends on whether the support plate can fit beneath your stock y carriage plywood. I didn't test it, so if you do give it a try, please post an update to let others know. This accessory should also work for the X-axis, but since my printer was inoperable at the time, I opted to hand-fabricate a similar device instead.
