Printrbot Simple 1405 Bowden Conversion

thingiverse

This custom Bowden conversion can be printed on the Printrbot Simple 1405 (although my printer has already been upgraded). By swapping out the extruder for a 3D-printed hot end mount, it's possible to boost the performance of a budget-friendly printer like the Simple. The extruder motor seat provides a secure spot for the motor to sit upright without shifting around - I just forgot to account for my heatsink, so mine doesn't fit snugly but still works fine otherwise. There are M3 screw holes on the seat in case I decide to attach it to something later. The "Small Extruder Mount" is designed to work seamlessly with the existing Printrbot Alu Extruder. The hot end mount was created by remixing Orangefurball's part. The "L" shaped end of it that hits the Y endstop has been raised slightly to fit on the wooden 1405 frame, assuming you're not using Jon Lawrence's Y-axis no sag mod. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3h2oEbLh0U
