This is a printable print bed expansion using stock print bed end frames. The system utilizes new rods made from angle aluminum, combined with a steel plate that can provide you with roughly a 15.5" x 6" print surface when paired with an upgraded Y-axis. Instructions for assembling the components follow: Essential materials needed: 1. Thirty-six inches of tool steel drill rod obtained from McMaster Carr with Part #88625K67 2. Six-inch by eighteen-inch plain steel sheet metal plate, sixteen-gauge in thickness from Home Depot SKU #475130 3. Two pieces of three-quarters by one-half inch angle aluminum rods from Home Depot, sixty-six inches in length and with a one-sixteenth inch thickness 4. M3-10mm socket head cap screws for securement 5. Four M3-16mm socket head cap screws for attachment 6. Two M3 nuts to add strength 7. A twenty-four-inch segment of GT2 belt purchased from Amazon 8. Double-sided tape with a one inch by two inch roll Firstly, take the drill rod and divide it into halves after making sure to obtain its accurate length in compliance with standard X-axis dimensions, usually seventeen inches or eighteen and three-eighths inches long due to minor differences from the exact dimensions stated above for reference. Use them as replacement rods in the print bed. Smooth out any burred areas of the split parts with beveling tool in hand before assembly process initiation to get accurate fitment when assembled together according to design guidelines. In creating this particular printable bed upgrade solution, it would require adjustments made during actual installation that matches custom-fit layout. It is worth mentioning here again about custom-made modifications to accommodate variations present within the specific print head size parameters that vary from product manufacturer specs such as 5 and half millimeters of tolerance with respect to exact location mentioned earlier prior knowledge about same part measurements available. Measure, and prepare your steel pieces before cutting - using saw cut method- at respective designated sizes: For front side & back portion supports – Length to be cut to 476mm which holds upper section flat against rear part end support Length for bracket parts measuring near fourteen inches (142) cut from wood end frames using these angles And notch out appropriate places at those cuts that go past main printed bars to achieve even level alignment. Cut smaller length (nearly eleven four) sections on both end support brackets placed perpendicular -for adding extra support when not present originally – Notching here done according to previous design measurements before installing.
