printrbot ramps lcd display panel for upgrade to 8bit or 32bit controller board and lcd graphics
thingiverse
I'm upgrading Printrbot with a cheap graphics panel and dialed controls, allowing users to attach LCD panels directly to the circuit boards. This LCD mount clamps onto the circuit boards of the LCD panel, holding it firmly in place when attached to the Printrbot metal. The new version 2 design fits the LCD under the X carriage, but a lift kit STL is coming soon for Ramps electronics. To fit Ramps on this design, you'll need to raise the X carriage by about 5 to 10mm; instructions for that will be provided in another Thingiverse file. This version of the LCD screen cover includes writings, so paint it entirely white and label the SD card and reset button. Version 2 prints without support material, requiring users to cut out a thin frame around the bezels for the LCD. I made this design choice to avoid warping or bridging on top. Rich helped me paint it at my maker space; you can file off his name if you prefer, but I felt obligated to leave it as a gesture of appreciation. As of 3/7/2020, I'm officially releasing this design, except for one minor defect that needs correction: the arrow at reset is slightly offset.
