Printrbot Pro Top Spool Roller Mount
youmagine
I created a top-mounted spool holder to hold standard 1KG spools above the handle bar for my Printrbot Pro. I assembled a PrintrBot Pro Adoptabot from Brook for a local robotics club and a high school - a beta unit without the TinyG Controller, ribbon cables, wiring, and other essential components. To connect it all together, I had to build a simple loom along the right-hand side in place of the ribbon cable. Due to this setup, the standard side bar mount spool holder wouldn't work since the spool would have caught on the loom (also, the necessary parts weren't included in the donated components). For a long time, the robotics club used one of my simple 608 bearing table rollers that are available on Youmagine. However, they wanted extra desk space, so I designed this roller to hold the spool above the handle bar. The printed parts require no support, and there is no need for glue or bolts. As usual, I've included the native Solidworks model, as well as X_T, STEP, Fusion360, and STL files. So feel free to mix, match, modify, and play with them however you see fit.
