Printrbot PLUS Precision Bed Leveler
thingiverse
This second bed leveling method was applied on a Printrbot PLUS due to the need for a design with less slop despite the initial success with the first method. The process involves utilizing various tools such as a Phillips screwdriver, a 5/32" drill bit, hand drill, exacto knife, soldering iron and Dremmel tool or saw. Additional parts needed include six #6-32 3/4" screws, eight #6 washers, twelve #6-32 nuts, four stiff springs, and six #6-32 1-1/2" screws among others. The process involves printing eight copies of nut-retainer.stl for attaching to each corner of the heated print bed. Modification of the clamps that attach the plywood print bed to y-axis rods is also required, along with drilling new holes in the heated print bed and plywood print bed. Finally, the back nut retainers and inside hole of front retainers are cinched to the print bed using screws, washers, nuts and springs. The height of the print bed is adjusted by turning the screws from the top of the heated print bed. Adjustments may be made to ensure the center screw can turn freely while assembling the parts.
