This is an update to the other PrintrBot play fan mount I designed earlier, specifically engineered for enhanced airflow in all directions. This design accommodates larger fans and showcases my use of a 40x40x20mm part cooling fan and a 30x30x15mm hot end cooling fan. The mount securely attaches to tapped holes at the bottom of the extruder using three M3 screws, which I reinforced with extra 6mm button head ones from my kit. To connect the fans, I employed craft wire, twisting the ends for added stability; alternatively, you can drill out the holes and secure them with nuts and bolts if desired. With this setup, I'm able to print stunning 20-degree overhangs, while 15-degree overhangs still display impressive results. The clever design of ribbing ensures that rotating air exits the nozzle at a precise angle, eliminating the risk of angled airflow. By directing the airflow from the fan through ducting to the hot end heat sink, I've optimized the air flow for maximum efficiency. Notably, upgrading to an increased airflow fan in this area yields little noticeable difference.
