Printrbot Play Spool Holder For Spools of More Sizes
thingiverse
I recently acquired a substantial 5-pound roll of MatterHackers Pro PLA in Silver, which was as large as my printer, prompting the need for a new solution. Like the stock spool holder, this one requires no additional or longer screws; simply remove and re-install the stock ones with the new brackets in between. To create this solution, you will need: A Printrbot Play to mount it to (intended for mounting on this printer after all) Four 608 Bearings (skateboard or rollerblade bearings) Two 8mm Smoothrods, or M8 bolts, or something cylindrical that fits inside the inner opening of the 608 bearings (at least 130mm long) My Printrbot Play features a Heated Bed and Extended Y-Axis Mod, which provided me with extra smooth rods from the upgrade. If you don't have the extended y-axis and cannot obtain one printed for you, I am working on a Smaller or Multi-Part Variation, if desired. Please leave comments to indicate your interest in this alternative before it is added here. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Printrbot Simple Metal Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 Infill: 10-20% Notes: Use at least three shells (1.2mm shell thickness in Cura) and at least three top and bottom layers, as this will be holding weight; shells are stronger than infill any day.
