Printrbot Play Spool Coaster Tray

A custom tray designed specifically for mounting on top of the Printrbot Play, seamlessly integrating with the Spool Coaster sold by Printrbot. This upgrade offers essential clearance for the extruder when printing parts that demand high z-axis capability. To create this tray, I employed a dual-support strategy during printing - both to the bed and part (specifically for the slot). Post-printing, a hacksaw blade proved effective in clearing the slot of residual support material. A crucial feature incorporated into the design is the stop mechanism, which prevents the tray from sliding forward after installation. To secure the stop firmly in place, I tapped holes using 3mm screws and expanded the tray's interior to accommodate 3mm clearance. Two nylon screws are used to attach the stop to the tray with precision and stability.
