Printrbot Play Extruder Shroud
thingiverse
I've been working on a long-term project to enhance the cooling system for my Printrbot Play. I've finally found the solution I was looking for. This new shroud incorporates a standard 20x20mm square fan for extruder cooling and a 50mm radial fan for part cooling. The shroud is designed with four places to secure the fans using 3mm button head screws, which are tapped into place. It's worth noting that I filed down the radial fan tabs about 2mm just below the screw heads so the screws don't protrude beyond the face of the fan, providing clearance for the Printrbot enclosure even when the x-axis is extended to its maximum. The fan duct for the square fan is also tapped with 3mm screws. I used a Cricut Explore Air to create the "pb" lettering on this shroud. I'll label this as a remix, although my starting point was actually the metal shroud that came with the Printrbot Play. That being said, I may have been influenced by crazygood33's design.
