Printrbot Play Auto Level Sensor Bracket
thingiverse
So the expected disaster struck, but thankfully my ultra-long prints stayed put this time and avoided a catastrophe when one did warp, causing a minor crash and snapping the auto leveling sensor bracket's fragile arm. Luckily I managed to reassemble it securely with some industrial strength glue, allowing me to squeeze in a few test runs just fine. With my background in IT and all systems freshly updated at our office, including solid ground on the new software installation for my colleagues, one of my contacts - a seasoned pro in 3D modeling, Ian Stratford by name, stepped up to do some quality time in Solidworks. That expert touch resulted in a brand-new replacement design tailored specifically to my requirements. Just to confirm, both parts were made right on site from start to finish, including the original piece. What stands out about this latest model is that it's been reinforced for extra durability, holding onto its precious sensor with greater ease than before - perhaps so securely it could even get away without that stabilizing screw all together! In fact, my downtime after a near-miss was only just 24 hours. What might've become an exercise in frustration - waiting out the days until the genuine part finally arrives here in the UK - turned into an unexpectedly productive afternoon instead. All set for a return to business as usual. Time for the next one!
