When moving the Z axis at top speed, the z drive rod can become noisy from whipping around wildly. After discovering an existing Z-axis stabilizer design that I liked, I decided to give it a try for a while. However, I soon optimized its design to use less material as is my custom. Additionally, I designed various spool holders, all of which function well, with the last one being highly optimized for that particular type of design. Then, I began thinking about combining both features into a single part. So, I did. This design has turned out to be my best so far and uses minimal material. It will work effectively with a wide range of spool sizes and also clears the Z stepper as it moves up.
