Two variations were designed, each with different adjustment levels to accommodate varying spool widths. The first allows for a broad range of spool widths, from 49mm to 89mm. The second accommodates two narrower ranges: one between 53mm and 61mm, another between 72mm and 89mm. Standard Printrbot filament spools typically measure 89mm in diameter, while Protoparadigm filament spools are usually around 61mm. To build this spool holder, four 608 bearings are required. These are widely used in skateboarding and can easily be sourced. While I personally recommend sealed bearings for their added durability, shielded bearings would also suffice. For optimal performance, print this spool holder using supports. Note: If the spool runs low on material, it may detach from the holder. Adding two pennies to the center of most spools weighs down the roll, preventing accidental removal and keeping the printer stable during operation.
