I'm experimenting with creating a fan shroud to boost airflow from my 40mm fan, but I believe the airflow remains forward-biased; future revisions might help achieve more even airflow. So far, I've only used PLA, though I know ABS would produce a model more resistant to heat, making it ideal for printing at temperatures higher than PLA or removing the shroud entirely in hotter conditions. After starting to print with ABS at 235C and a heated bed at 100C, my bottom shroud is sagging. Be cautious not to remove the fan while it's running, as this can damage your board. The print becomes rough around the top half of the fan mount, using 0.254mm layer height at 30mm/s print speed (70mm/s travel). Tolerances are tight near the nozzle; parameters in the openscad file can be adjusted if you find them. The openscad file is a bit messy, but I'll upload a cleaner version soon. **UPDATE** A cleaner V1a scad file has been added; V1b offers better directional flow but restricts airflow too much, so a buffer was added for the fit by the fan.
