An upgraded version of the PrintrBot LC extruder small herringbone gear features improved mesh and fewer defects due to removed artifacts from a defunct set screw hole and replaced missing vertices in its teeth. To ensure precise fit with the motor shaft, the hole for the shaft is intentionally undersized; use either a 5mm reamer or drill, a #9 reamer or drill, a #8 reamer or drill, or a relevant sized reamer or drill. For smooth gear operation, perform this procedure on a drill press, lathe, or by hand with caution and while wearing safety glasses to prevent injury.
