I've finally made up my mind to upgrade the 5/16" threaded rods on my Printrbot Plus LC with lead screws. The rods are 4-start, 2 mm pitch, with an impressive 8 mm of lead. The adapters have tapped threads and are secured tightly to the nut using a strong M3 x 6 mm screw. To update the firmware, I'll change the DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT setting for the Z axis to 400. Alternatively, at a terminal command line, I can enter "M92 Z400" followed by "M500" to save it permanently in EEPROM.
