As a new PrintrBot owner, I found abrumm's PrintrBot Lasercut Spool design helpful but encountered an issue: the logo was cutting into the spool. To resolve this, I revised the original file in InkScape, placing the logo on layer 0 and the vector cut on layer 1 using the print driver to export to my Full Spectrum Laser. However, it combined both layers. Consequently, I included a version without the logo. There were also modifications needed: the spool's slots were too far apart, and the t-slots required extension for M3x16 bolts. This led to the creation of the 'nologo-FIXED' version. Additionally, we switched to 1/8" plywood for easier cutting with a 40w Laser, and R3 added filament securing holes. The latest file is the 1/8" version: Printrbot_Spool_nologo_125_r3.svg. In the future, I plan to optimize the design further by reducing the number of bolts from eight to four for improved simplicity. Instructions: Print, Assemble, and Enjoy! For assembly, we used 1/8" plywood and eight M3x16 bolts, nuts, and washers.
