Printrbot Jr. Acrylic Printbed

Printrbot Jr. Acrylic Printbed

thingiverse

An experimental printbed, designed for PLA printing without a heated bed, uses its engraved grid and textured acrylic surface to provide extra grip during the first layer extrusion. This bed has successfully worked with every print attempted so far. The concept was inspired by early MakerBot Cupcake's acrylic printbed and Afinia printers' perforated phenolic printbeds. It should be lasercut from 6mm sandblasted or textured acrylic, using the following EPS colors for the VersaLaser: red (outline) for vector cutting, blue (10mm squares) for heavy vector engraving, and green (2mm squares) for medium vector engraving. However, ensure that a hot printhead doesn't park near the acrylic for an extended period to prevent melting the surface.
