PrintrBot / Hanging Spool Holder
thingiverse
Yet another versatile Spool holder for universal use.\nThis one is designed to be printed in PLA on a 100mm bed. Originally intended to sit atop my PrintrBot 1405 Simple's Z-rods, I later modified it to hang from the ceiling due to space constraints.\nThe axle requires an M8x140mm bolt for optimal function. The Clip and Cone components come from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:767317 The Cones demand a 608ZZ bearing each.\nTo assemble, create one mount, two legs, two cones, and two clips. Also, make two axle holders, with one being the mirror image of the other. Secure with 4xM3 screws (plus 2 more to clamp to the Z rods if choosing the upright version).\nThe clips serve as spacers to keep the cones pressed firmly against each side of the spool. You may also want to create some Sharkz http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:910216 for use as spacers on narrow spools and those with large centre holes.\nSource design is publicly available at https://cad.onshape.com/documents/578bf2c7e4b0370dd9137e4e/w/e8d78c8a5b4fd5125980ae5e/e/c3121cc574e53fe4970cbb4b\nPrint Settings\nPrinter Brand: Printrbot\nPrinter Model: Simple Black\nRafts: None\nSupports: None\nNotes: When printing in PLA, keep infill minimal on the clips to prevent brittleness.
