Printrbot Gimbal
pinshape
Update 4/5/14: I tightened up gimbal tolerances on my printers by uploading an updated stl with tighter tolerance settings. I recently printed out Parametric Gimbal, which was already assembled by Bluebie, and have spent the past week experimenting with it. This print is a fun project that showcases Print-In-Place design to create moving elements. As part of an exploration into remixing using Tinkercad's import STL function, I merged the Parametric Gimbal with the Printrbot logo found at https://printrbot.com/2013/07/04/printrbot-logo-files/. It took a few attempts to get the center of balance adjusted and the thickness of the Printrbot logo set to a level that still spun smoothly. Instructions: I printed Parametric Gimbal at 0.2mm layer height on my Metal Printrbot Simple. I've printed this design multiple times on various printers, and it seems tolerances might be a bit loose.
