Printrbot Extendible Spool Holder Spacer

The Printrbot XL tower spool holder significantly surpasses most standard spools in width. During the process of feeding filament, the spool often begins drifting to the left, resulting in uneven filament delivery. In order to prevent this irregularity, I created a simple spacer to keep the spool moving smoothly along its intended path. Additionally, I discovered that applying automotive lubricating paste to the top surface of the spool holder is beneficial, allowing for smooth spool movement. This innovation has greatly improved print quality and reliability in my printing experience. Since I initially designed this solution at 40mm in length to accommodate the smaller diameter spools I had on hand, it was ideal for that specific use case. However, with recent filament purchases featuring larger size spools, I found myself requiring spacers of different dimensions. Consequently, I created multiple sizes of this design to fit a wider range of spool diameters and ensure consistent print performance across my diverse spool collection.
