This 3D-printed version of the Printrbot Direct-Drive Aluminum Extruder can be found in the files shared by the PrintrBot team at https://printrbot.com/2014/01/23/aluminum-extruder-documentation-fun/. To use, import "Alu Expolded.dae" from the link into Google Sketchup and save individual parts as .stl files. Netfabb can be used to rotate the top arm for easier printing on a Simple. The 2014 Printrbot Simple assembly with the ALU extruder impressed users, and parts were printed using the same printer. The Wooden Extruder of the 2013 PB Simple has faced issues due to numerous parts, while the ALU Extruder's design is well-executed and satisfying. The STL files from the original design are attached, along with required components: 1.5" 6-32 screw, 6-32 hex nut, 16mm M5 screw, 625 bearing, and 3/4" spring. An exploded diagram for assembly can be found at http://d17kynu4zpq5hy.cloudfront.net/igi/printrbot/ZS6nDZNAcoXccUbq
