PrintrBot Chassis Mounted Blower Fan Kit
thingiverse
I upgraded to a blower fan without adding unnecessary weight to my print arm by designing and printing all the fittings required for mounting the fan on the chassis and directing its output towards my extruder/hot-end. The hose-to-shroud mount should work seamlessly with any shroud choice, with only one part being specifically tailored for my PrintrBot model: the shroud itself. I repurposed a pliable vacuum hose from a thrift store purchase; be sure to use an exceptionally flexible hose if you choose to print this setup to avoid hindering its performance. Keep in mind that this project is still a work-in-progress, as I have yet to design and 3D-print the blower fan's chassis mount - for now, I'm employing zip-ties as a temporary solution. Required Non-Printed Components: 1x Hose, diameter 1.25 inches, variable length 1x Brushless DC Motor, 12V (specific product reference: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B2ARV22?psc=1)
